A very warm welcome to the Manchester PA Network
The Manchester PA Network is a not for profit organisation, founded by Amanda Hargreaves and Melanie Sheehy in July 2011, designed to give EAs and PAs the opportunity to meet, network and develop meaningful long-term professional relationships and personal friendships.
Amanda and Melanie also work very closely with Holly Moore, Managing Director of Make Events. Holly is a board member and provides invaluable strategic advice and is a fundamental part of making our events stand out from the crowd.
Since the network launched with their first event with 50 PAs, the Network has grown above and beyond expectations and has been a resounding success. The focus was on wanting to help those who were less confident in the networking environment, and needed some encouragement to meet and network with their peers. With the support and encouragement you can see at every event, the network has achieved that objective wholeheartedly and there are now have over 600 members with representation from the entire North West businesses community.
Since their launch, attendees at the events have grown consistently and the network has raised over £70,000.00 for The Christie Charity, which is a cause close to all members’ hearts. The network have some exciting new ideas for 2017 and beyond and plan to beat their challenge to get to £100,000 by 2020.
The Network has been running for five years now and could not have been as successful without the enthusiasm and commitment of the members that have supported it throughout its journey.
The 2015 Manchester PA Network Awards were a huge success and it is with great pleasure and pride that the Manchester PA Network get to recognise the huge support and contribution that their members continue to make to their organisations, and recognise their individual success.
Here is what Michaela Wakeman, member and the 2016 Robert Walters Excellence Award winner had to say about the Manchester PA Network
"In terms of the Manchester PA Network, I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. I moved from Sheffield to Manchester a few years ago and joining the network was the best thing I have ever done for my career and I’ve been a PA for over 15 years. The network is a group of likeminded individuals that are all out to help and encourage each other to further themselves in their careers, create an incredible network and very importantly are an amazingly friendly bunch!
Each event I go to I get to meet new people, visit new venues and develop my personal network even further. The power of social media also means that any request you put out there to the network you can guarantee not only a speedy response but also a number of answers to your requests – It’s like nothing I have been involved in before!
Now, I probably sound like I am promoting some sort of cult here!! I can assure you I’m not! I’m just so passionate about the network and how much it has enhanced my career and perhaps more importantly my confidence in what I do. I would like it to do the same for you so I would advise you to try and make the Launch of the 2017 Awards event on 31st March. I will be there so I will make sure you feel at ease and introduce you to some of the wonderful members".
