Hayley Harthern

Managing Director of Big Chief Tipis and Ambassador for the Manchester PA Network

“Opportunity dances with those already on the dance floor”

Hayley Harthern is Managing Director of Big Chief Tipis, a tipi hire business based in Manchester. She is also an avid fundraiser for The Christie Cancer Charity, professional champagne drinker and Co-Founder of the Manchester PA Network.

Hayley, Amanda & Melanie launched the Manchester PA Network together over 5 years ago to just 50 PA’s. Now the network has grown substantially to over 600 members and the 6-8 events held by the team each year are fantastically fun nights with 50-100 members at each event.

Hayley launched her business, Big Chief Tipis, in September 2014 and after a roaring success in 2015, Hayley decided to step down from the MPAN board of Directors, into an Ambassador role to focus on growing her business even further.

“By the end of our first year, Big Chief had completed over 50 events including Michelle Keegan’s wedding, Glastonbury Festival and Carl Fogarty’s private birthday party – it was a crazy whirlwind of a year and 2016 will be no different as we’ll be doing the Queen’s 90th Birthday in addition to over 60 weddings, parties and corporate events! I’ve had to learn to live on little to no sleep and each day is sponsored by Red Bull!”

A lot of the members will be used to seeing Hayley’s pictures of one of her challenges around the globe, raising money for The Christie Cancer Charity. In the last 18months, she has raised over £15,000 for The Christie by climbing Kilimanjaro, cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia and running the London Marathon.

“My only challenge this year is going to be ensuring the continued success of my business and renovating my 17thcentury cottage. I’ve signed up to do a midnight half-marathon on the ice in Norway but that isn’t until 2017, so I’ll be getting fat until then!”

“The Manchester PA Network is such an incredible home for hundreds of PAs in the Manchester area for them to seek advice, support, friendship and a fun night out away from the office with people in the same role as themselves.

I’m incredibly proud to be one of the network’s Ambassadors and will continue to sing from the rooftops about their good work!”
